Air Canada upgrades its A321 experience

Air Canada has introduced a reimagined Business Class offering aboard its first fully modernized Airbus A321, setting a new benchmark for premium narrow-body travel in North America.

With the latest refurbishment, guests can expect an entirely redesigned cabin featuring state-of-the-art Business Class seating, advanced technology, and thoughtful amenities such as complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and seamless Bluetooth audio connectivity.

Among the most exciting enhancements is a pioneering camera system, delivering passengers a real-time pilot’s perspective from takeoff to landing via the seatback entertainment display. This innovative feature marks the first time such exterior camera views have been available on a narrow-body aircraft, underscoring Air Canada’s commitment to technological leadership.

Signature highlights of the refreshed cabin include:

  • Expanded Overhead Storage – Outfitted with the latest Airbus Airspace XL bins, these are now the largest in their class, ensuring ample space for carry-on bags. The same design will extend to the incoming A321XLRs.
  • Next-Generation Business Class Seats – The upgraded seats deliver a unified premium experience across Air Canada’s narrow-body jets. Enhanced personal space, improved ergonomics, and increased storage contribute to a more relaxing and productive journey.
  • Bluetooth-Enabled Entertainment – The new IFE system allows travelers to pair their own headphones, enjoying on-demand movies, live television, and audio content while supporting Air Canada’s sustainability efforts by minimizing single-use headphone waste.
  • Live Exterior Camera Feeds – High-definition tail and belly cameras provide real-time exterior views, setting a new standard for passenger engagement on narrow-body flights.
  • Dynamic LED Mood Lighting – Customizable lighting schemes enhance cabin ambiance, adapting to different phases of flight and time zones for optimal comfort.
  • Ultra-Fast Satellite Wi-Fi – Upgraded satellite connectivity delivers reliable, complimentary high-speed internet for all passengers.
  • Comprehensive Power Access – Every seat is now equipped with AC outlets, USB-A, and USB-C ports, ensuring devices stay charged throughout the flight.

The full retrofit of Air Canada’s remaining 14 Airbus A321s and eight A320s is currently underway, with completion targeted by late 2025. These enhancements bring the A321 and A320 cabins in line with Air Canada’s newest Airbus A220 and Boeing 737 MAX interiors, delivering a consistent, premium experience across the airline’s narrow-body fleet. As Canada’s flag carrier and a founding member of Star Alliance, Air Canada continues to serve over 180 global destinations across six continents, maintaining its reputation for innovation and excellence.
