Air India has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the flagship Delhi to London Heathrow route, with operations commencing from September 1. The carrier now offers two daily flights on this high-demand corridor, enhancing both frequency and passenger experience.
The advanced A350-900 replaces the older Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft on 14 of the 17 weekly flights, introducing next-generation comfort and efficiency across the majority of Air India’s London services.

We are committed to redefining the standards for long-haul travel, delivering a truly world-class experience for our guests as we continue our fleet renewal journey.”
This major fleet upgrade means that 90% of Air India’s flights to London Heathrow now feature the newest interiors and technology. Following the successful deployment of revamped Boeing 777-300ERs on the Mumbai-London route and the return of First Class service, Air India continues to prioritize premium comfort for international travelers.
For the first time, Air India now offers a dedicated Premium Economy cabin on the Delhi-London Heathrow route aboard the A350-900. Passengers can enjoy 24 generously proportioned seats in a 2-4-2 layout, designed for added space and privacy in a separate cabin environment.
“Our A350s are equipped with industry-leading amenities, including a refined Premium Economy product and a suite of onboard enhancements. We are confident these flights between India and London Heathrow will quickly become the preferred choice for discerning travelers,” Wilson added.
Travelers in Business Class and Premium Economy will discover upgraded touches, from elegant new tableware and glassware to plush bedding and thoughtfully curated amenity kits, all tailored to elevate the onboard experience.
