Air India is undergoing a remarkable transformation—following its return to the Tata Group in 2022, the airline has executed a sweeping rebrand, placed record-breaking aircraft orders, introduced refreshed uniforms, and is now unveiling a collection of refined soft-product upgrades: bespoke bedding, curated tableware, and designer amenity kits.
In December, Air India welcomed the first of its 20 new Airbus A350-900s, with five more joining the fleet by March. Initially deployed on domestic routes, these state-of-the-art aircraft are set to expand to key long-haul international services throughout 2025.
The A350s are configured for premium comfort: 28 private Business Suites, 24 Premium Economy recliners, and 264 Economy seats, each designed to deliver an elevated journey.
Meanwhile, the retrofitted Boeing 777-300 ERs now feature an all-new First Class suite, setting a new benchmark for luxury among Indian carriers.
Amenity Kits:
Air India has partnered with the legendary Italian luxury house Ferragamo to introduce exclusive amenity kits for First and Business Class. These thoughtfully curated sets include ultra-soft socks, plush eye masks, and eco-conscious earplugs crafted from recycled materials, with toothbrushes fashioned from sustainable wheat straw. Essentials such as hydrating lip balm, premium toothpaste, nourishing hand cream, and a quality comb are included. First Class guests enjoy an additional signature Ferragamo fragrance.
With this collaboration, Air India joins Turkish Airlines in featuring Ferragamo, but uniquely debuts the brand’s latest contemporary logo on its kits for international travelers.
Premium Economy travelers receive their own stylish amenity kit designed by the renowned travel brand TUMI, underscoring Air India’s commitment to excellence across all cabins.
Bedding:
For Business and First Class, Air India introduces a proprietary line of premium bedding—luxurious duvets and memory foam mattress toppers ensure restful sleep above the clouds. Premium Economy is treated to plush, oversized blankets for enhanced comfort.
Tableware:
Discerning travelers in all premium cabins will notice the elevated dining experience, with new stainless steel cutlery and gold-accented, tiffin-inspired salt and pepper shakers that are already generating buzz among collectors. The tableware collection features Mandala-inspired Indian motifs on fine chinaware and an elegant new tea service. Premium Economy guests enjoy a thoughtfully crafted service plate designed for both style and function.
Having personally experienced these enhancements, we believe Air India is poised to join the ranks of the world’s most prestigious airlines. While these innovations set a new standard, the true test will be their seamless integration into daily service and the consistency of Air India’s renowned hospitality.
