Air India's traditional dance inflight safety video a hit!

Air India's newly launched inflight safety video, which weaves together the vibrancy of Indian classical dance with vital safety instructions, has quickly become a viral sensation, amassing over 5 million views within its first 72 hours online.

This groundbreaking initiative, titled ‘Safety Mudras,’ seamlessly integrates the airline's safety demonstration with the rich artistic legacy of India. The video not only educates but also enchants, transforming routine safety briefings into a celebration of India’s diverse heritage.

Passengers are guided through essential safety procedures using the expressive language of eight iconic Indian dance forms: Bharatnatyam, Bihu, Kathak, Kathakali, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Ghoomar, and Giddha. Each classical style is thoughtfully matched to a specific safety message, with intricate mudras (hand gestures) visually conveying instructions, making the content both memorable and accessible for global travelers.

The immersive experience is elevated by an original musical composition from acclaimed vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, whose evocative score underscores the video’s narrative and emotional resonance.

Debuting on YouTube in February 2025, this distinctive safety video marks a bold step by Air India in redefining passenger engagement and setting a new benchmark for culturally inspired inflight communications.
