BA and AA unveil three new premium lounges at JFK

Discerning travelers flying from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport with British Airways or American Airlines can now unwind in three exceptional new departure lounges, setting a new standard for premium pre-flight comfort.

With British Airways relocating from Terminal 7, both airlines have consolidated operations in the newly transformed Terminal 8. This expansion welcomes guests to the exclusive Chelsea, Soho, and Greenwich Lounges—each meticulously designed to elevate the luxury travel experience in 2025.

Chelsea Lounge: The Epitome of Private Elegance

The Chelsea Lounge stands as Terminal 8’s most elite retreat, reserved for BA First Class, Gold Guest List, AA Flagship First, Flagship Business Plus, and Concierge Key members. Boasting an intimate capacity for approximately 130 guests, this haven delivers a tranquil, invitation-only experience.

At its heart, a striking Champagne Bar pours an impressive selection of seventeen labels—including the renowned Krug Grande Cuvee—while the sophisticated dining room offers a curated menu of British and American classics, served à la carte. Guests can choose from plush recliners, buttery leather sofas, or cocooning armchairs, all arranged around a dramatic suspended fireplace. The lounge is fully equipped with abundant power and USB ports, and features several semi-private work pods for productivity. Three marble-adorned shower suites, stocked with upscale amenities, are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The only notable limitation is the absence of natural daylight within the lounge’s serene interiors.

Soho Lounge: Sophisticated Comfort and Panoramic Views

Sharing an entrance with the Chelsea Lounge, the Soho Lounge welcomes BA Executive Club Gold, AAdvantage Executive Platinum, Platinum Pro, Concierge Key, and oneworld Emerald travelers, with seating for up to 280 guests.

This contemporary space is drenched in natural light courtesy of expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, offering sweeping vistas of the runway and bustling gates. Guests can relax in a variety of seating—from high-top bar stools to padded banquettes and communal tables. The lounge features a lively cocktail bar, an extensive buffet with fresh hot and cold selections, and a digital à la carte ordering system via QR code. Wine aficionados will appreciate the self-serve wine bar, while business travelers can make use of private workstations overlooking the tarmac. A tranquil library zone and four spa-inspired shower suites complete the experience, mirroring the refined amenities found in the Chelsea Lounge.

Greenwich Lounge: Elevated Comfort for Business Travelers

The Greenwich Lounge, reimagined from the former Flagship Lounge, now accommodates over 590 guests and welcomes oneworld Business Class, Club World, Executive Club Silver, and oneworld Sapphire members.

Though not a ground-up development, the refreshed Greenwich Lounge now integrates the previous Flagship First Dining area and the Concourse B Admirals Club, creating a seamless, expansive retreat. Guests will find a chic gin and cocktail bar, a sophisticated wine-tasting table, and a buffet brimming with chef-driven dishes. Ample seating areas and panoramic tarmac views enhance the ambiance.

Terminal 8’s broader upgrades include five wide-body aircraft gates, four additional hardstand parking positions, and a state-of-the-art baggage system—ensuring a smooth and luxurious journey from curb to gate in 2025.
