This signature cocktail is the centerpiece of the airline’s latest wave of luxury lounge enhancements, reflecting British Airways’ ongoing commitment to redefining the premium ground experience in 2025.
At the heart of this innovation is a bespoke martini mixer, engineered in partnership with renowned aviation brand Bremont and design house CALLUM. Precision-built from solid stainless steel, this mixer incorporates an integrated digital scale and a kinetic bar that ensures perfect ingredient balance every time.
The mixer’s distinctive design draws inspiration from jet turbines, and employs a motorized paddle that stirs at a precisely calibrated 120-160 RPM. This method optimizes aeration and chilling, enhancing the drink’s bright citrus and delicate floral notes for a perfectly balanced Turbine Martini.
Conceived by multi-award-winning mixologist Mr Lyan (Ryan Chetiyawardana), the Turbine Martini combines Aviation American Gin—British Airways’ exclusive gin partner—with artisanal vermouth, bespoke bitters, and a hand-selected garnish. Each martini is expertly prepared and presented at your seat by the lounge team, offering a refined, personalized touch.
Beyond the Concorde Room, British Airways is investing in an extensive program of lounge refurbishments across its global network. Recent enhancements include the stylish new Whispering Angel Bar at Terminal 5B in Heathrow, refreshed cabana suites featuring daybeds and work pods, and upgraded furnishings for a contemporary, welcoming ambience.
