Cathay Pacific resumes First Class service to London - on Boeing 777s

Cathay Pacific, the renowned premium carrier based in Hong Kong, has officially reinstated its highly coveted First Class service on daily flights between Hong Kong and London Heathrow, utilizing its flagship Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

This relaunch marks a significant milestone for luxury travelers and the airline alike, as Hong Kong’s aviation sector continues to rebound and thrive following the full reopening of borders and the resurgence of international demand in 2025.

Travelers now benefit from expanded frequencies, with up to four daily flights connecting Hong Kong and London Heathrow at peak times, reflecting robust market recovery and Cathay Pacific’s commitment to delivering an elevated travel experience.

First Class service is currently available on select flights, such as CX251, which departs Hong Kong International Airport at 22:20 and lands at London Heathrow at 05:00 the following morning. The return journey, CX252, departs London at 11:15, arriving in Hong Kong at 07:00 the next day, ensuring seamless connectivity for discerning passengers.

Following a period of reduced operations during the pandemic, Cathay Pacific’s First Class offering remains exclusive to its Boeing 777-300ER fleet—aircraft renowned for their spacious six-suite First Class cabins and acclaimed service. The airline’s Airbus A350 fleet continues to serve other long-haul destinations, but without a First Class cabin.

While First Class is currently exclusive to the Hong Kong–London route, Cathay Pacific has expanded Boeing 777-300ER services to select U.S. gateways, though First Class seats are not yet bookable on those routes as of June 2025.

For ground services, the Cathay Pacific First Class lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3 is fully open, offering signature amenities and bespoke hospitality. In Hong Kong, the celebrated lounges The Pier and The Wing have now reopened after extensive renovations, setting new benchmarks for pre-flight luxury.

The airline’s Boeing 777-300ERs are configured for 294 passengers, including six First Class suites and 53 Cathay Pacific Business Class seats, delivering a refined and spacious journey for premium travelers.
