China opens up in January

As of early 2025, China has fully relaxed its entry protocols for international visitors. Travelers are now welcomed without the need for pre-departure quarantine or extended self-isolation—only a negative Covid-19 test taken within 48 hours before boarding is required. The previous limitations on inbound flights and passenger numbers have also been eliminated, allowing global airlines to restore and expand premium services to China.

For almost three years, China’s strict border controls dramatically reduced inbound tourism and business travel. The reopening marks a pivotal moment for the country's hospitality sector and international connectivity.

Discerning travelers can once again explore iconic destinations such as Beijing, the storied Great Wall, the world-renowned Terracotta Army in Xi’an, and the cosmopolitan allure of Shanghai.

With Hong Kong’s travel restrictions also lifted, seamless movement throughout Mainland China and its Special Administrative Regions is now possible, offering new possibilities for curated itineraries and bespoke luxury experiences.
