In honor of World Chocolate Day, Emirates has unveiled a remarkable statistic: passengers across all cabins enjoyed a staggering 45 million pieces of premium chocolate onboard during 2023, alongside an impressive array of gourmet chocolate desserts.
Elevating the renowned ‘fly better’ promise, Emirates presents hand-crafted chocolates as a hallmark of its culinary program in every cabin class, spanning its global network of 140 destinations. The recently introduced Premium Economy cabin saw guests savoring 322,000 chocolates, while Business Class travelers sampled 8.2 million exquisite pieces. First Class guests, with unlimited access and the option to take home their favorites, indulged in 122,000 grand chocolate boxes.
Emirates partners with distinguished chocolatiers worldwide, rotating its curated chocolate selection every quarter to surprise and delight frequent flyers. As of this year, passengers can enjoy creations from the celebrated French house Valrhona, renowned for its sustainable sourcing and refined flavors.
The airline’s chocolate curation features acclaimed brands such as Bateel, Coco Jalila, and Forrey & Galland from the UAE; Butlers from Ireland; Belgian icons Godiva, Canonica, and Neuhaus; Pacari of Ecuador; and the UK’s Hotel Chocolat. Selection criteria include chocolate type—dark, milk, or white—bonbons, pralines, and truffles, as well as artisanal fillings, texture, brand reputation, sustainability credentials, and alignment with global taste trends.
For guests seeking a deeper chocolate experience, Emirates offers a range of chocolate-inspired desserts and signature hot chocolate across all cabins. First Class menus feature highlights like passionfruit-infused chocolate mousse, delicate white chocolate tarts, rich chocolate fondant with mascarpone, and vegan chocolate pecan cake with whipped ganache.
In Business and Premium Economy, passengers can indulge in treats such as vegan onyx avocado chocolate tart, banana-mango milk chocolate domes, and chocolate mocha marquise wedges with salted caramel. Economy Class diners enjoy refreshing chocolate-orange mousse or milk chocolate caramel cake with raspberry coulis.
On extended journeys, snack trays are stocked with chocolate bars, while festive occasions see chocolate lollipops delighting younger travelers. First Class amenity baskets are enhanced with Lindt’s 85% dark chocolate. In the iconic Emirates A380 Onboard Lounge, both vegan and classic chocolate treats, including M&Ms, chocolate cake, and mini confections, are always available for guests to enjoy at their leisure.
In Emirates’ exclusive lounges, travelers are treated to a bespoke chocolate experience, including house-made chocolate ice cream, signature Costa Coffee hot chocolate, and a suite of Emirates MasterChef desserts—from white chocolate-passionfruit cakes to decadent macarons and dark chocolate cakes.
The First Class dessert trolley, a recent innovation, heightens the indulgence with Valrhona Grand Cru truffles (Jivara 40% and Guanaja 70%), chocolate-dipped madeleines, and masterpieces such as hazelnut praline milk chocolate cake and roasted banana-chocolate-caramel cake.
