As of June 1st, Finnair has restructured its Business Class baggage allowances across both European and intercontinental routes, directly impacting premium travelers.
Passengers holding Business Light fares are now permitted one cabin bag (55cm x 40cm x 23cm) and a personal item (40cm x 30cm x 15cm), with a combined weight limit of 10kg—checked baggage is not included. Business Classic and Flex ticket holders receive the same hand luggage allowance, plus one complimentary checked bag (with up to three checked bags on routes to Japan).
Special baggage such as golf clubs and skis are no longer included with any fare type and must be purchased separately. Notably, Finnair Plus Gold members have lost complimentary sports equipment privileges under the new structure, and oversized or overweight items are excluded from Platinum and Platinum Lumo tier benefits. Silver members no longer receive an extra checked bag, though a 50% discount is offered on additional bag purchases. Travelers with British Airways Executive Club or oneworld elite status continue to enjoy an additional checked bag as part of their alliance perks.
Finnair states that these baggage revisions are designed to streamline boarding procedures, enhance punctuality, and improve the in-flight experience for all guests.
As the national airline of Finland and a longstanding member of the Oneworld Alliance, Finnair continues to adapt its premium offering in line with evolving industry standards.Discover our expert review of Finnair's latest Business Class experience
