Lufthansa, Germany’s flagship airline, has officially revealed the Business Class cabin configuration on its latest fleet additions: five Boeing 787 Dreamliners originally destined for Hainan Airlines.
While Lufthansa’s signature Business Class suite has debuted on its newest A350 and B787 deliveries, these particular Dreamliners—recently incorporated into the fleet—feature a refined Lufthansa-branded interior while retaining the original Hainan Airlines 1-2-1 herringbone seating arrangement.
These five Dreamliners each offer 26 Business Class seats set in a direct-aisle-access herringbone format, delivering privacy and comfort with a distinctly Lufthansa cabin ambiance. Premium Economy is arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration with 21 seats, while the Economy cabin provides 247 seats in a 3-3-3 setup, ensuring ample capacity for both short- and long-haul journeys.
After successful certification and crew training, the first of these Dreamliners entered service on the Frankfurt–Munich route, offering passengers a preview of the experience ahead of international deployment.
The inaugural long-haul operation commenced between Frankfurt and New York (Newark), marking the Dreamliner’s transatlantic debut under the Lufthansa banner.
