Lufthansa dazzles with new First Class and Business Class cabins

The highly anticipated "Lufthansa Allegris" initiative, first introduced in 2017, has transformed the premium travel experience across the Lufthansa Group’s long-haul fleet—including SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Lufthansa itself.

Following last year’s debut of SWISS’s innovative First and Business Class suites, Lufthansa has now set a new benchmark by unveiling groundbreaking First Class double suites, an all-new Business Class, and exclusive Business Class front-row suites, starting with its flagship Airbus A350 aircraft.

Lufthansa’s new “Suite Plus” redefines First Class travel: these private double suites feature floor-to-ceiling partitions, fully enclosed doors, a spacious dining table, and two extra-wide seats that convert into a luxurious double bed—essentially creating a private airborne sanctuary. Climate-controlled seats nearly one meter wide, seamless device integration with the entertainment system, and a personal wardrobe for effortless in-flight changes elevate comfort to new heights. Dining is bespoke, with gourmet meals served on demand in the privacy of your suite, echoing the ambiance of a fine restaurant at 35,000 feet.

Jens Ritter, CEO of Lufthansa Airlines, shares: "Every traveler has unique expectations of luxury. With Suite Plus, we deliver unrivaled privacy and personalization, reminiscent of a five-star hotel room—only above the clouds. Allegris is our commitment to exceptional individuality, exclusivity, and service excellence throughout the entire journey."

Business Class guests in the front row can experience their own suite, complete with chest-high walls and sliding doors for enhanced seclusion. Highlights include an expansive 27-inch monitor, generous storage, a private minibar, and a wardrobe. Traveling with a companion? Adjoining suites can be connected for a shared, private space.

The Allegris collection introduces unprecedented choice for Business Class passengers. Six distinct seat options range from extra-long 2.20m beds and expanded workspace to dedicated baby bassinet seats, exclusive window positions, and a convertible double seat with a retractable center console—ideal for couples or colleagues.

All configurations feature tall partitions and generous shoulder room for enhanced discretion. Lie-flat beds of at least two meters, ultra-high-definition 4K screens, large dining tables, wireless charging, Bluetooth audio, and noise-cancelling headphones are standard. Adjustable heating and cooling allow for personalized comfort, and a shoulder sink-in design supports optimal side-sleeping posture. A tablet-style controller manages seat, lighting, climate, and entertainment functions. Every seat offers direct aisle access for ultimate convenience.

Premium Economy Class, already rolled out on SWISS and now expanding to Lufthansa, brings its own comfort innovations. The Allegris seat delivers increased legroom, a fully adjustable leg rest, and greater recline within a fixed hard shell—ensuring your relaxation never impacts the passenger behind. Fixed tables and monitors enhance stability, while sustainable amenity kits add a thoughtful, eco-friendly touch to the experience.

By 2025, over 80 new Lufthansa aircraft—including the Boeing 787-9, Airbus A350, and Boeing 777-9—feature the Allegris cabins, with retrofits underway for the iconic Boeing 747-8 fleet.
