As of early 2024, Lufthansa has launched unlimited complimentary messaging on all A320 family aircraft operating within Europe. Travelers can now send and receive text and image-based messages via their personal devices at no extra charge throughout short- and medium-haul journeys.
This digital upgrade is part of a broader overhaul of Lufthansa’s onboard connectivity, which also includes a nearly 50 percent reduction in pricing for advanced Wi-Fi services such as high-speed streaming. The initiative reflects Lufthansa’s continued investment—now exceeding two billion euros—in elevating the passenger experience across its fleet.
Heiko Reitz, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Airlines, shared, "Our ongoing commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction is exemplified by the introduction of Free Messaging. Keeping our guests seamlessly connected with colleagues, friends, or loved ones while in the air is now an integral part of the Lufthansa journey."
To take advantage of this complimentary messaging service, guests simply log in to FlyNet using their Miles & More membership number or the email linked to their Lufthansa Group Travel ID. New users can also register onboard to access the service during their flight.
