Lufthansa unveils enhanced long-haul menus

Beginning this summer, Lufthansa Business Class passengers traveling on long-haul routes from Germany can now personalize their dining experience by pre-selecting from an expanded menu of six curated main courses, each inspired by regional and seasonal ingredients. Selections can be made conveniently up to 24 hours prior to departure, ensuring a tailored and elevated onboard meal for every guest.

From August 2025, Lufthansa has also expanded its premium hot beverage selection available on European routes as part of the Onboard Delights Service. The airline is furthering its sustainability pledge by introducing a new reusable cup crafted from fully recyclable plastic, phasing out the previous single-use alternatives. This eco-conscious cup is now used to serve a variety of specialty coffees—such as latte macchiato—alongside three premium tea blends and gourmet hot chocolate, all available for purchase. These initiatives align with the Lufthansa Group’s ambitious goal to eliminate all single-use plastics and aluminum from its passenger airlines by the end of 2025, demonstrating leadership in sustainable aviation practices.

For families, Lufthansa has enriched its in-flight entertainment for young travelers. The digital "e-journals" media library now features an expanded Children's Media Box, offering an extensive array of international journals and magazines tailored to kids and teens, all downloadable at no extra cost. Younger passengers can also enjoy new coloring sheets, designed to keep them engaged both in the terminal and during their flight. On short- and medium-haul services, the FlyNet portal now includes complimentary children's podcasts, further broadening the range of age-appropriate entertainment options.

This summer, the airline’s children’s entertainment catalogue has been significantly broadened. Over 50 family-friendly films and TV series, plus a wealth of audio content, are available on long-haul flights. Additionally, at Lufthansa’s gates and children’s play areas in Terminal 2 at Munich and Terminal 1 at Frankfurt, QR codes enable seamless access to children’s video content and audiobooks, all free of charge and in multiple languages.
