Qantas lounge in Hong Kong officially reopens

The Qantas Hong Kong International Lounge has triumphantly reopened, reaffirming Qantas' dedication to elevating the premium travel experience for its global clientele. This reopening forms part of the airline's extensive AUD100 million investment, further strengthening its network of world-class lounges.

Originally introduced in 2014, the lounge was shuttered during the global health crisis and has since undergone a comprehensive transformation. The redesign reflects Qantas’ forward-thinking approach, blending contemporary Australian elegance with the dynamic spirit of Hong Kong.

Markus Svensson, Qantas Chief Customer Officer, highlighted the brand’s commitment to the region: "We are delighted to welcome guests back to our revitalized Hong Kong International Lounge, now offering an even more sophisticated and comfortable environment for discerning travelers."

Since resuming its Hong Kong services, Qantas has seen a marked increase in premium demand, positioning the lounge as a cornerstone of its customer-centric strategy in Asia.

Spanning 2,000 square meters, the refreshed lounge features an inviting warm palette and custom furnishings curated by renowned Australian designer David Caon. With ample seating for up to 290 guests, the space boasts sweeping views of the distinctive Sky Bridge at HKIA. The original architectural framework remains, while new tiling and decorative screens define tranquil zones and enhanced privacy for guests seeking both relaxation and productivity.

Under the culinary direction of Creative Director Neil Perry, the menu spotlights Hong Kong-inspired delicacies, including a celebrated Yum Cha trolley and signature char siu barbecue pork. The elegant bar now serves a curated selection of Australia’s top wines, craft beers, premium spirits, and an exclusive range of Neil Perry cocktails. For wellness-minded travelers, the Quench hydration station offers a variety of nourishing beverages.

Guests may opt for formal dining or unwind in the casual lounge area. With most Qantas flights operating overnight between Hong Kong and Australia, the business zone—equipped with generous power outlets and ultra-fast Wi-Fi—caters to professionals on the move. For pre-flight relaxation, twelve private shower suites provide a serene retreat, complete with Li'Tya amenities. Access is extended to Qantas Frequent Flyers (Gold tier and above), premium cabin passengers, and eligible oneworld and partner airline travelers.

Qantas currently operates daily return flights between Sydney and Hong Kong, utilizing a fleet of A380 and A330 aircraft fitted with award-winning Business Suites and lie-flat beds. The Melbourne-Hong Kong route has also been reinstated, now offering four weekly flights as of mid-2025.Discover Businessclass's report on Qantas & Western Australia's latest amenity kits
