Qantas has committed over GBP 67 million to elevate its global lounge portfolio, with a major highlight being the debut of its ultra-luxurious First Lounge at London Heathrow’s Terminal 3.
Beyond London, the investment includes a revitalized International Lounge at Hong Kong International Airport and a comprehensive transformation of the International Business Lounge in Sydney, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence across key locations.
Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce emphasized the airline's dedication to rewarding its most valued guests, sharing, “Our lounges are a cornerstone of the Qantas experience, especially for our frequent flyers. London remains a strategic hub in our worldwide network, making it an ideal setting for our newest First Lounge. With Project Sunrise’s direct ultra-long-haul flights, this space will set a new benchmark for pre-flight luxury at one of the world’s busiest airports.”
The forthcoming First Class Lounge at Heathrow will offer seamless gate access, panoramic views of the runway, wellness-inspired amenities, and a signature dining program curated by acclaimed chefs. Timed to coincide with Project Sunrise—Qantas’ groundbreaking nonstop routes connecting Sydney to London and New York—the lounge is on track to welcome guests in 2025.
Access will be granted to Qantas Frequent Flyers with Gold status or higher, First and Business Class passengers on Qantas-operated services, and qualifying oneworld and partner airline guests.
Heathrow will join Los Angeles, Melbourne, Singapore, and the renowned Marc Newson-designed Sydney lounge as the fifth city boasting a dedicated Qantas First Lounge, further expanding the brand’s global luxury footprint.
