Qantas unveils Wellbeing Zone and Premium Economy for Project Sunrise

Qantas has officially unveiled the full interior layout of its bespoke Airbus A350 fleet, purpose-built for nonstop journeys from Sydney to New York and London, launching in late 2025.

While the Australian flag carrier had previously teased its cutting-edge First and Business Class suites, it now pulls back the curtain on its pioneering Wellbeing Zone and reimagined Premium Economy experience.

The design process for these ultra-long-range cabins began in 2019, with Qantas investing thousands of hours into crafting an environment tailored for flights lasting up to 22 hours and accommodating 238 guests. Project Sunrise aims to revolutionise global travel by reducing total journey times by over three hours compared to current one-stop itineraries, setting a new benchmark for direct international connectivity.

Qantas is setting a world first with its dedicated Wellbeing Zone, strategically positioned between Premium Economy and Economy. This space features contoured wall panels with built-in stretch bars, an interactive digital exercise guide, a hydration bar, and a curated selection of healthy refreshments.

The 40-seat Premium Economy section offers Qantas' most spacious seat pitch to date, including advanced ergonomic leg and foot supports and versatile personal storage.

Passengers in all four cabins benefit from multiple rapid USB-C charging outlets, while premium seats are also equipped with built-in wireless charging pads.

Onboard connectivity is unrivalled: Qantas' A350s provide complimentary high-speed WiFi across all classes, and Bluetooth audio pairing is standard, empowering guests to link their own headphones directly to the inflight entertainment system.
