Riyadh Air unveils livery & confirms no First Class

Riyadh Air has officially introduced its distinctive livery for the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, captivating the aviation world with a dynamic palette of deep violet and sapphire blue accented by sleek white branding.

This ambitious Saudi carrier, fully backed by the nation's Public Investment Fund, is preparing for its highly anticipated commercial launch in 2025, positioning itself as the kingdom’s second flag carrier.

Riyadh Air recently finalized an order for 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners—39 firm commitments with an option for an additional 33—reflecting a multi-billion-dollar investment aimed at rapidly expanding its long-haul network.

Industry veteran Tony Douglas, formerly the CEO of Etihad Airways, now spearheads Riyadh Air. Under his guidance, the airline seeks to establish Riyadh as a premier global transit hub, targeting both international business travelers and those eager to explore Saudi Arabia’s evolving tourism landscape. The advanced Dreamliner fleet will serve as the backbone of these international ambitions.

Passengers can look forward to a superior onboard experience, as each 787-9 will feature next-generation digital in-flight entertainment, high-speed Wi-Fi, and seamless connectivity solutions—a nod to the airline’s commitment to innovation and passenger comfort. The carrier’s base of operations will be King Khalid International Airport, Riyadh.

As confirmed by CEO Tony Douglas, Riyadh Air’s premium offering will not include a First Class cabin. Instead, the airline is investing in an elevated Business Class product designed to rival industry benchmarks like Qatar Airways’ Qsuite, promising privacy, flexibility, and an uncompromising level of service.

Riyadh Air aims to connect travelers to more than 100 global destinations by 2030, with further route announcements and product details expected in the coming months.
