Stockholm Arlanda Airport upgrades T5

Stockholm Arlanda Airport has elevated the passenger experience at Terminal 5, introducing a cutting-edge security screening area and a stunning new Marketplace, with phased openings completed through early 2025.

As Sweden’s primary international gateway and a pivotal hub for carriers like Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Finnair, and Norwegian, Arlanda now accommodates over 2 million travelers each month, solidifying its reputation as a premier Nordic aviation center.

The newly launched Marketplace represents the airport's most ambitious commercial investment to date, featuring 11,000 square meters of curated retail, dining, and leisure spaces. Travelers can now indulge in a diverse retail mix and choose from over twenty gourmet food and beverage venues.

The initial stage of the Marketplace introduced a 2,000-square-meter Duty Free emporium alongside a specialty store offering Nordic-inspired gifts, Swedish delicacies, and regional artisanal products. Additional amenities include a modern pharmacy, a contemporary bookstore, and the international electronics retailer InMotion.

The Marketplace’s second phase, finalized at the end of 2023, welcomed flagship boutiques from iconic Swedish fashion houses Gant and J. Lindeberg, a range of outdoor apparel brands, and a dedicated children’s toy retailer. The final expansion, completed in early 2025, unveiled further premium shopping destinations, with more exclusive openings anticipated this year.

The state-of-the-art security checkpoint, operational since mid-2023, streamlines the screening process with advanced CT scanners and spacious lanes. This upgrade coincided with the seamless integration of Terminals 4 and 5, now connected by a high-speed walkway, allowing for effortless transfers between domestic and international flights.
