SWISS has officially confirmed the seating configuration for its incoming Airbus A350-900 aircraft, setting a new benchmark in European premium travel. Each A350-900 will feature 242 seats in total: three in First Class, 45 in Business Class, 38 in Premium Economy, and 156 in Economy.
With 38 Premium Economy seats, the A350-900 will offer the most generous Premium Economy cabin in the SWISS fleet to date. This strategic expansion is a direct response to the growing appetite for elevated leisure travel, reflecting a broader industry trend toward premiumisation.
"From 2025, our thoughtfully curated cabin environment will deliver an exceptional, next-generation inflight experience," stated SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Tamur Goudarzi Pour. "SWISS remains the only major global airline to provide First Class across every long-haul aircraft, and we are further enhancing our acclaimed Premium Economy cabin. These investments reinforce our reputation as Europe’s leading premium carrier."
The delivery of five new Airbus A350-900s will begin in 2025, gradually replacing the airline’s last four Airbus A340-300s. Renowned for its advanced technology and sustainability, the A350-900 boasts a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to previous models, and produces less than half the noise of its predecessor. Passengers benefit from a quieter, more eco-friendly journey, with average fuel consumption at just 2.5 litres per 100 kilometres per person.
