Turkish Airlines Launches Direct Service to Sydney and Upgrades Business Class

Turkish Airlines Introduces Istanbul–Sydney Flights and Next-Generation Business Suites

Turkish Airlines is enhancing its global footprint with the introduction of a new Istanbul–Sydney route, solidifying its status as a leader in long-haul connectivity. Beginning December 4th, travelers can experience four weekly flights between Istanbul and Sydney, with a technical stop in Kuala Lumpur. The service will utilize the advanced Airbus A350-900, renowned for its comfort and efficiency.

Chairman Ahmet Bolat has confirmed that Sydney is set to become the airline’s inaugural nonstop Australian destination by 2026, contingent on the arrival of ultra-long-range aircraft such as the A350-1000 or Boeing 777X.

The new route is strategically tailored to connect the Turkish diaspora in Australia and to provide seamless access for European passengers via Istanbul’s world-class hub.

Turkish Airlines has also debuted its refined “Crystal” Business Class suite, promising enhanced privacy and luxury. A fleet-wide upgrade on Boeing 777s is scheduled to commence in early 2025, with future A350-1000s—destined for non-stop services to Sydney and Melbourne—also featuring these state-of-the-art suites.

These developments underscore Turkish Airlines’ commitment to delivering a premium experience for discerning travelers in 2025 and beyond.

Cathay Pacific Unveils Complimentary Wi-Fi Across Premium Cabins

Travelers flying Cathay Pacific in First or Business Class can now enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, reflecting the airline’s ongoing investment in the inflight experience.

Since 2022, complimentary Wi-Fi has been a staple for Cathay’s First Class guests. Following positive feedback from recent onboard trials, the privilege now extends to all Business Class travelers across Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft. Beginning November 2025, Cathay Diamond members will also benefit from free connectivity in every cabin class.

With this service, premium passengers enjoy unrestricted access to essential digital activities: email, web browsing, audio streaming, social media, messaging, and cloud-based productivity tools. Only one device can connect at a time, but switching between devices is seamless during the flight.

Currently, more than 90% of Cathay Pacific’s fleet—including the entire long-haul lineup—is Wi-Fi equipped. The airline remains on track to offer inflight internet on 100% of its aircraft by mid-2025.
