Turkish Airlines has commenced its much-anticipated service to Melbourne, marking the carrier’s inaugural entry into the Australian market and expanding its global reach to six continents.
As of March 15th, the renowned flag carrier of Türkiye now operates three weekly flights from Istanbul to Melbourne, with a seamless stopover in Singapore. Each journey includes a brief layover of approximately 90 minutes at Singapore Changi Airport, allowing for a smooth transit in both directions. Flight timings are optimized for both business and leisure travelers, though schedules may fluctuate seasonally to accommodate demand and operational adjustments.
To celebrate the launch, Turkish Airlines introduced exclusive introductory fares starting at US$1,199 for bookings made by April 15th, valid for travel between March 15th and May 15th. These fares quickly gained traction among premium travelers seeking an elevated experience.

Currently, all Istanbul–Melbourne flights operate via Singapore, offering travelers an opportunity to experience two world-class airports in one journey. Turkish Airlines has publicly shared its long-term vision to offer nonstop flights to Melbourne, as well as explore additional Australian gateways. This expansion is contingent upon the delivery of ultra-long-haul aircraft capable of direct service between Istanbul and Australia—a milestone anticipated as the airline continues to modernize its fleet.
