Virgin Australia has officially reinstated its inflight Wi-Fi offering, marking a major upgrade for tech-savvy travelers seeking seamless connectivity above the clouds. After a suspension of service in early 2020, the airline has now completed the installation of next-generation high-speed Wi-Fi across its Boeing 737 and 737 MAX 8 fleet, ensuring passengers enjoy fast and reliable internet access on both domestic and international routes.
The advanced satellite-powered service, delivered in partnership with industry leader Intelsat, is now fully operational as of early 2025. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is extended to Business Class guests, Velocity Platinum members, and those with Virgin Australia Beyond VIP status. Other travelers can opt for flexible packages, including 30-minute sessions or full-flight passes for uninterrupted browsing, streaming, and productivity.
Connecting is effortless—simply join the Virgin Australia onboard Wi-Fi network from your laptop, tablet, or smartphone and follow the intuitive prompts. The network supports multiple devices per passenger, catering to both leisure and business needs.
Wi-Fi is available on the flagship daily Cairns–Tokyo Haneda service, operated by the state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX 8. This route features eight fully reclinable Business Class suites and is a favorite among frequent flyers for its comfort and reliable connectivity during the approximately 7.5-hour journey each way.
Virgin Australia continues to expand its fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with all new deliveries equipped for high-speed inflight internet. These aircraft set a new standard for passenger experience on long-haul and premium routes.
