LOT Polish Airlines, a long-standing member of the Star Alliance, operates an all-Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet for its intercontinental routes. Its Business Class offering, while boutique in scale, consistently delivers fully flat beds, thoughtfully curated menus, and warm, attentive service. This premium cabin is recognized for efficiently connecting North America, Europe, and select Asian destinations.
Established in 1928, LOT is among Europe’s most historic carriers. While Warsaw serves as the principal hub, the airline also runs select long-haul flights from Budapest, providing valuable links between Central Europe, North America, and Asia.
As a Star Alliance partner, LOT enables seamless mileage accrual and redemption across nearly two dozen airlines, including Air Canada, Lufthansa, Swiss, United, and ANA. Codeshare agreements further facilitate multi-carrier itineraries for global travelers.
Star Alliance Gold status holders benefit from priority services and lounge access when flying LOT. The airline’s loyalty program, Miles & More—shared with Lufthansa, Swiss, and Brussels Airlines—offers excellent opportunities for frequent flyers to maximize their rewards.
Airport experience
Warsaw Chopin Airport remains the central hub for LOT, though the airline continues to operate select long-haul services from other Polish cities and Budapest. At Warsaw, Business Class guests benefit from expedited check-in, fast-track security, and streamlined transit through the recently renovated terminal, which now features enhanced wayfinding and upgraded amenities.
The flagship Polonez Lounge in Warsaw impresses with abundant daylight, varied seating zones, and multiple buffet stations. Guests can enjoy a rotating selection of Polish snacks, premium local beverages, and barista-made coffee. Star Alliance Gold and top-tier elites gain access to a more exclusive enclave within the lounge, offering premium spirits, an expanded hot and cold buffet, and a serene setting for relaxation or work. While this area is more tranquil, it does have less natural sunlight compared to the main space.
Travelers can take advantage of a complimentary spa, though availability is limited to select hours. Showers are available for those seeking to refresh before their flight. Outside Warsaw, LOT contracts with Star Alliance partner lounges, ensuring Business Class service standards are met globally.
Priority boarding lanes are consistently available for Business Class and Star Alliance Gold passengers, allowing for an unhurried and comfortable boarding process.

Cabin & Seat
All LOT long-haul flights are operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliners, featuring a 2-2-2 seating arrangement in Business Class. The intimate cabin—three rows on the 787-8 and four on the 787-9—creates a quieter, more personalized atmosphere, with 18 and 24 seats respectively.
During our latest flights, we found the cabin’s vibrant blue color palette, accented with white and soft grey, to be both modern and inviting. LED mood lighting, including subtle blue hues, enhances the overall sense of calm and helps minimize jet lag.
Window seats require stepping over a neighbor to access the aisle, which may not suit all travelers. Solo flyers often prefer the center aisle seats for easier access and less disturbance. Movable privacy dividers provide added discretion between seat pairs.
The Dreamliner’s signature electronic window dimming is present, allowing guests to adjust the light level without full blackout. Note that crew can override these settings, so don’t hesitate to request window control if you prefer natural light during your journey.
While the seat shell delivers a sense of personal space, storage for small items is limited. A small carry-on fits under the ottoman, which also serves as a footrest. The seat offers multiple recline options, from lounge to fully flat, all controlled electronically. Additional amenities include a magazine rack, shoe compartment, adjustable reading lamp, universal power outlets, USB ports, and a convenient coat hook.
Despite lacking the latest in privacy innovation, LOT’s Business Class seats are generously wide, supportive, and well-suited for overnight travel. The advanced LED lighting system is calibrated to ease the transition between time zones, aligning with current wellness trends in premium air travel.
The Businessclass flight search provides comprehensive photos, videos, and seating maps for most cabins, including pitch, width, and recline details—helping travelers make informed choices before booking.

Cuisine
While LOT Polish Airlines may not be synonymous with Michelin-level gastronomy, its Business Class culinary offering is consistently satisfying and elegantly presented. Meals are served directly on linen-clad tables with fine porcelain, eschewing traditional tray service for a more refined, restaurant-inspired approach. Dessert is showcased on tiered trolleys, giving guests the freedom to select from an array of sweet and savory options.
Service begins with a fresh salad, artisanal bread, and a choice of appetizer—often featuring seasonal soups or local charcuterie. Main courses, which typically include options such as beef, chicken, or fish, are attractively plated in the galley and delivered individually. Dessert selections—ranging from pastries, fruit, and cheese to ice cream—are served from a rolling cart, accompanied by a curated selection of after-dinner drinks and digestifs.
Between meals, a snack menu is available, including a hot dish and a variety of light bites such as sandwiches, fruit, and sweets. The bar remains open throughout the flight. Prior to landing, a substantial second meal is served, tailored to the time of day and usually more robust than what’s offered on many competitors.
On routes to Asia, menu items often reflect local culinary traditions. However, Polish specialties are less common, with the airline opting for more international fare.
Vegetarian options are not always listed on the main menu, but special meals—including vegetarian, kosher, and children’s selections—can be pre-ordered. While dine-on-demand is not available, an express service option allows travelers to enjoy all courses shortly after takeoff for maximum flexibility.

Beverages
Prior to departure, Business Class guests are welcomed with a choice of still or sparkling water, orange juice, or Champagne—often a Brut or Rosé from respected houses such as Nicolas Feuillatte. A delicate amuse-bouche and refreshing towelette are also provided to set the tone for the journey.
Once airborne, the beverage menu extends to a curated list of three white and three red wines, Champagne, port, and an assortment of international beers, including a well-chosen Polish label. Drinks are paired with a ramekin of premium mixed nuts.
Passengers may also select from a range of high-end spirits, liqueurs, and classic mixers, as well as juices, sodas, specialty coffees, and teas.

Service
Our experience with LOT’s Business Class crew consistently reflects genuine Polish hospitality—warm, approachable, and eager to please. While the service style is less formal than some Asian or Middle Eastern carriers, it is refreshingly authentic and attentive throughout the flight.

Entertainment
Each Business Class seat features a wide personal entertainment screen controlled by a wired handset. The system offers a solid variety of Hollywood blockbusters, international films, and an impressive lineup of Polish cinema and television. Content is available in several languages, though the included noise-canceling headphones could benefit from an upgrade in clarity and comfort.
The interactive 3D flight map remains a highlight, allowing guests to follow the route in detail and explore geographical features en route.
As of 2025, inflight Wi-Fi has not yet been introduced on the Dreamliner fleet, which is an area for potential enhancement compared to peer airlines.
The Businessclass flight search includes up-to-date information on inflight entertainment and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Amenities & Facilities
Business Class guests receive amenity kits stocked with essential toiletries, as well as distinctive extras such as a shoehorn and nourishing foot cream. For restful sleep, a plush pillow and blanket are provided, complemented by a fitted bedsheet for added freshness—enhancing the sense of hygiene and comfort without extra cushioning.
Before arrival, cabin crew offer Polish chocolates—a thoughtful touch that leaves a lasting impression.
Families traveling with infants may request bassinets on long-haul flights, available at designated seats to ensure safety and convenience for little ones.
Short & Medium Haul
For regional flights within Europe and to select Middle Eastern destinations, LOT deploys narrowbody aircraft with standard Economy Class seating. In Business Class, the adjacent seat is blocked for additional personal space. On longer European or Middle Eastern sectors, comfort may be limited by seat recline and workspace. Meal service includes hot entrées on most flights, with cold snacks on shorter domestic routes. Guests enjoy complimentary beverages, including wine, Polish beer, sparkling wine, soft drinks, coffee, and tea, adjusted according to flight duration.

Sustainability
LOT’s adoption of the fuel-efficient Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a cornerstone of its sustainability strategy, reducing emissions and supporting eco-friendly flight operations. Additional green measures include transitioning from plastics to biodegradable materials, minimizing ground power consumption, and expanding the "Destination Eco" program. This initiative empowers passengers to offset their carbon footprint, with contributions funding nationwide tree-planting and reforestation projects.
