AccorHotels has solidified its leadership in the Northern Territory by integrating two prominent hotels at Darwin Airport into its premium portfolio: Novotel Darwin Airport and Mercure Darwin Airport Resort, previously operated as Rydges Darwin Airport Hotel and Rydges Darwin Airport Resort.
The Novotel Darwin Airport, a 136-room property situated just steps from the terminal, has recently completed an extensive renovation. Today, guests enjoy contemporary interiors, enhanced in-room technology, and signature Novotel amenities, reflecting the brand’s global standards for comfort and style.
Adjacent to Novotel, the Mercure Darwin Airport Resort now features 181 rooms, following a comprehensive refurbishment of both guest rooms and communal spaces. Since its rebranding, the resort has expanded its accommodation offerings, including 108 additional rooms and new leisure facilities, catering to both business and leisure travelers seeking convenience with a touch of tropical luxury.
Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer for AccorHotels Pacific, remarked, “Our commitment to significant investment ensures these properties deliver the elevated experience that international travelers expect from Novotel and Mercure. The transformation of these hotels aligns perfectly with our vision for exceptional midscale hospitality in Australia’s gateway cities.”
These new additions join AccorHotels’ established presence in the Top End, which spans the Novotel Darwin Atrium—renowned for its award-winning Novotel Next generation room design—as well as Mercure Kakadu Crocodile Hotel, Kakadu Lodge Cooinda, four Ayers Rock Resort properties, ibis Styles Katherine, and ibis Styles Alice Springs.
“With Novotel Darwin Atrium setting the benchmark for innovation and guest experience in the region, we’re excited to foster collaboration between our Darwin hotels. The synergies across these properties will further elevate the standard of hospitality available to travelers visiting the Northern Territory,” added Mr. McGrath.
