Passengers in Air New Zealand’s Business Premier cabin can now enjoy expertly crafted, alcohol-free cocktails courtesy of boutique New Zealand distiller Ecology & Co on select Auckland to San Francisco flights throughout Dry July.
According to Niki Chave, Air New Zealand’s Senior Manager of Customer Experience, this enhanced beverage offering is a direct response to evolving guest preferences.
“Savoring a refreshing drink is a cherished part of the travel experience, but we know that approximately 11 percent of our customers abstain from alcohol, and nearly one in ten say they steer clear of spirits inflight due to concerns about dehydration or fatigue upon arrival.
“There’s a notable global shift toward mindful drinking and wellness-oriented dining, and our guests increasingly seek health-conscious options to support an energetic landing.”
“By collaborating with Ecology & Co, we’re delighted to introduce their Asian Spice and London Dry distilled blends to our signature cocktail repertoire, offering innovative flavors that align with modern tastes.”
Di Miller, co-founder of Ecology & Co, notes that demand for their sugar-free, carb-free, and zero-alcohol spirits continues to surge since their inception.
“Our spirits are carefully distilled from botanicals and spices, omitting alcohol entirely to deliver a refined, adult beverage experience—without any after-effects. This partnership with Air New Zealand is a milestone for our brand, giving us unprecedented international visibility. What began as an artisanal project in our backyard has now reached new heights at 35,000 feet.”
During July, guests on NZ7 and NZ8 can enjoy the Muriwai Mule featuring Ecology & Co Asian Spice, or the Tahi Rua Tonic crafted with the London Dry blend. For those seeking a crisp, sugar-free refreshment, the alcohol-free spirits are also served over ice with soda water.
