American Express Opens New Melbourne Lounge

American Express has elevated the pre-flight experience at Melbourne Airport’s international terminal with the debut of its new premium lounge.

This marks the second Amex-branded lounge in Australia, joining the flagship Sydney location and expanding the brand’s prestigious network of more than 1,300 lounges worldwide.

Strategically situated in Terminal 2, the lounge welcomes guests with an entrance directly across from the Qantas International Business Lounge. Open daily from 6 am to 11 pm, the space offers a curated menu of gourmet snacks and beverages, artisan barista coffee, ultra-fast Wi-Fi, business amenities including computers and print services, real-time flight updates, and an impressive library of international and local publications.

The interior design features a contemporary, understated elegance, with capacity for up to 65 travelers—surpassing the seating available at the Sydney counterpart.

The lounge is thoughtfully organized into two distinct environments. One area is dedicated to dining, complete with communal tables and intimate seating for small groups.

On the opposite side, guests will find tranquil zones designed for relaxation and productivity, offering a range of secluded, plush seating options.

Operated by the award-winning Plaza Premium Group, this exclusive lounge is accessible to eligible American Express cardmembers. Centurion and Platinum Charge cardholders enjoy unlimited access, while holders of other qualifying Amex cards receive two complimentary visits per calendar year.
