Boeing has officially initiated the primary assembly of its flagship 787-10 Dreamliner, marking a major step forward in the evolution of the 787 series.

Demonstrating strong momentum in the widebody market, Boeing's esteemed partner Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has commenced the installation of signature circular frames into the mid-forward fuselage, laying the groundwork for the largest Dreamliner ever engineered.

Kawasaki's expertise ensures precision as these critical components are integrated seamlessly to uphold the Dreamliner’s legacy of innovation.

“Starting full-scale assembly ahead of schedule is a testament to Boeing’s global network of dedicated partners and our collective commitment to operational excellence,” commented Ken Sanger, Vice President of 787 Airplane Development at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “Our streamlined approach is designed to ensure the 787-10 is incorporated into our advanced production system with maximum efficiency.”

The 787-10 Dreamliner, visualized in Boeing’s latest renderings, represents an elongated evolution of the 787-9, offering enhanced passenger capacity and optimal fuel performance. According to Boeing, approximately 95% of the engineering and components are shared with the 787-9, which strategically minimizes complexity and supports cost-effective, risk-mitigated manufacturing.

Final assembly of the 787-10 takes place at Boeing’s cutting-edge facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. Since its introduction, the aircraft has been delivered to leading airlines worldwide, supporting both long-haul and high-density regional routes with unmatched efficiency.

As of 2025, Boeing has secured over 200 orders for the 787-10 Dreamliner from a roster of premier global carriers, reflecting its enduring appeal in the competitive aviation landscape.
