Embracing the excitement of the Royal Wedding, British Airways curated a uniquely themed flight staffed by crew members sharing the iconic couple’s names. The BA93 service to Toronto—where Meghan and Harry’s romance blossomed—featured a team of ten cabin crew: seven named Megan, one Meghan, and two Harrys.
The commemorative flight, BA93, departed from Heathrow on May 19, coinciding with the Royal Wedding. Takeoff was scheduled at 1:10 p.m., just an hour after the royal ceremony at Windsor Castle, located a short drive from the airport.
Senior First Officer Harry Blake was at the helm in the cockpit, working alongside the Captain to ensure a smooth transatlantic journey.
To elevate the celebratory mood, the airline stocked extra champagne onboard, and the special "Royal Crew" treated each guest to a personal bottle of Castelnau Blanc du Blanc and an individual wedding cake crafted for the occasion.
Adding to the festivities, any traveler departing Terminal 5 on the wedding day and bearing the names Harry, Meghan, or Megan received an invitation to the exclusive British Airways First lounge, with their companions welcomed as well.
All passengers departing from Heathrow on the historic day were offered a lemon and elderflower Victoria sponge—a nod to the flavor chosen for the royal wedding cake.
Throughout May, British Airways long-haul passengers enjoyed curated entertainment, including episodes of "Suits"—the acclaimed series featuring Meghan Markle—as well as documentaries and podcasts chronicling the couple’s journey. Wedding highlights were also made available on long-haul flights the following day, allowing travelers to relive the royal celebration in the skies.
