British Airways launches flights to New Orleans and Florida

British Airways has introduced two exclusive transatlantic routes, enhancing its presence in the southern United States.

Direct flights from London Heathrow to New Orleans launched on March 26, 2017, with the addition of London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale commencing July 6, 2017. These routes have become staples in BA’s North American portfolio, catering to both leisure and business travelers seeking seamless connectivity.

British Airways now operates four flights a week to New Orleans—the first direct service in over two decades—departing Heathrow every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 15:40 and arriving at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport at 19:40. Return flights leave New Orleans at 21:10, touching down at London Heathrow at 12:00 the following day.

For those seeking luxury and comfort, fares begin at £599 for World Traveller, £899 for World Traveller Plus, and £1,749 for Club World, offering a range of premium options to suit every traveler.

Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Director of Networks and Alliances, shared, “We are delighted to offer our customers direct access to New Orleans, a vibrant destination renowned for its rich cultural heritage, legendary music scene, and over 45 annual international festivals, including the iconic Mardi Gras.”

Meanwhile, the thrice-weekly service from Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale has established itself as a key connection, complementing British Airways’ existing Florida routes to Tampa and Orlando. This expansion provides travelers with even greater flexibility and choice when exploring the Sunshine State.

Fares to Fort Lauderdale start at £378 in World Traveller, £895 in World Traveller Plus, and £1,699 in Club World, reflecting British Airways’ commitment to delivering value and elevated service across all cabins.
