British Airways to refresh lounges in Chicago, Edinburgh and Berlin

British Airways has officially revealed a major transformation of its First and Club lounges at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, alongside comprehensive upgrades at its Edinburgh and Berlin outposts.

As of Spring 2025, premium travelers passing through Chicago O’Hare’s British Airways lounges are greeted by a bespoke welcome in newly designed reception areas. The lounges now showcase refined, contemporary interiors with elegant décor, ambient lighting, and custom Italian furnishings. Guests benefit from an abundance of high-speed charging points seamlessly integrated into sleek marble surfaces, while ergonomically crafted seating offers tailored comfort for both relaxation and productivity. The culinary experience has also been elevated, with reimagined buffet stations serving a curated selection of local specialties and international gourmet fare sourced from award-winning chefs.

Edinburgh’s British Airways lounge has also emerged from a top-to-bottom refresh, featuring a brighter palette, restored hardwood floors, and hand-selected Scottish textiles. Discerning guests now enjoy plush, bespoke chairs and reconfigured spaces that seamlessly blend work and dining zones, providing an enhanced environment for both business and leisure travelers. The check-in experience has been upgraded for a more personalized, interactive welcome, reflecting the airline’s ongoing commitment to service excellence.

Meanwhile, the Berlin lounge has embraced a chic, modern aesthetic with new designer furniture, contemporary carpeting, and local art installations. Serving up to 10 British Airways flights daily between Berlin and London, the space offers sophisticated amenities and a tranquil atmosphere, making it a standout among European airport lounges in 2025.

Carolina Martinoli, Chief Brand and Customer Experience Officer at British Airways, remarked: “Our lounges are vital sanctuaries for our Club and First guests, as well as our Executive Club members. These enhancements are part of British Airways’ ongoing £7 billion customer investment. Over the past three years, we have transformed more than a dozen lounges worldwide, and we remain dedicated to delivering world-class experiences for our travelers.”

The airline’s current lounge revitalization program extends to Heathrow Terminal 5, with ongoing upgrades throughout 2025, and a newly relaunched Elemis Spa at JFK, now offering an expanded menu of wellness treatments. British Airways continues to set the standard for premium ground experiences across its global network.
