Peruvian gastronomy has earned global acclaim, with its vibrant flavours now captivating discerning palates from Tokyo to London. British Airways is at the forefront of this culinary movement, inviting guests to savour authentic Peruvian dishes—including ceviche—at cruising altitude on its celebrated Gatwick to Lima service.

In celebration of its direct flights between London Gatwick and Lima—still the only nonstop connection between the UK and Peru—British Airways has partnered with renowned chef, restaurateur, and author Martin Morales. Morales, whose London restaurants Ceviche Soho, Ceviche Old St, and Andina continue to receive accolades, has curated an exclusive in-flight menu reflecting the bold spirit of modern Peruvian cuisine.

According to Morales, “Peru’s culinary landscape is a tapestry of indigenous ingredients and global influences. Bringing these nuanced flavours to the skies is an exciting challenge, and I’m thrilled that British Airways passengers can now enjoy a taste of Peru’s diversity as part of their journey.”

The bespoke menu features highlights such as ‘causa de camaron’—delicately spiced mashed potatoes layered with fresh prawns and Amarillo chilli—and ‘bistec escabechado’, a tender beef fillet marinated in soy and cumin, accompanied by a tangy pickled tomato and onion salsa with sweet corn purée.

Travelers in Club World enjoy an added indulgence: a classic pisco sour cocktail, expertly crafted with Peruvian pisco, zesty lime, and frothy egg white, setting the tone for an immersive cultural experience even before landing.

As Lynne Embleton, British Airways’ Managing Director at Gatwick, shares: “Peru offers an unmatched blend of history, adventure, and cuisine. With iconic sites like Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail, and a rich cultural legacy, it’s no wonder Peru remains one of South America’s most sought-after destinations.”

The Peruvian tasting menu is featured seasonally; guests are encouraged to consult the latest onboard dining schedule. Flights operate three times a week, maintaining British Airways’ status as the exclusive provider of direct service between London and Peru.
