British Airways is elevating luxury air travel by offering First Class passengers an exclusive in-flight virtual reality cinema, a pioneering move among UK carriers.
First Class travelers on select London Heathrow to New York JFK flights now have access to a curated selection of acclaimed movies, documentaries, and travel series, all available in 2D, 3D, or immersive 360° formats. This innovative service transforms your seat into a private entertainment lounge at 35,000 feet.
The advanced VR headsets, provided by SkyLights, deliver a fully immersive visual and audio experience, adaptable whether you are seated upright or enjoying the comfort of a lie-flat bed. The headset’s design ensures optimal viewing from any position, allowing uninterrupted enjoyment throughout your journey.
British Airways remains at the forefront of in-flight innovation as the first UK airline to implement this technology. The airline’s partnership with industry experts has resulted in a diverse content library, including therapeutic options such as guided meditation and soundscapes—ideal for passengers seeking relaxation or those with aviophobia.
Sajida Ismail, British Airways' Head of Inflight Product, shared: “Pushing the boundaries of in-flight entertainment is central to our commitment to customer experience. The integration of virtual reality onboard is an exciting step forward, offering our First Class guests a truly unique and memorable journey.”
