This reimagined space, which now spans the entire lounge footprint, welcomes guests departing for London Heathrow with an elevated ambiance and an exclusive dining enclave reserved for First Class travelers. The updated Johannesburg Lounge is a showcase of British Airways’ latest lounge concepts, harmoniously blending contemporary British sophistication with local South African flair. Upon entering, guests are greeted by attentive staff and discover a serene environment tailored for both relaxation and productivity.
The 880-square-metre lounge comfortably accommodates up to 247 guests and features a vibrant lobby bar for mingling, a spacious brasserie-style dining area, and a dedicated business zone replete with private workstations and convenient power access. For those seeking solitude, a tranquil seating section offers plush armchairs and stylish banquette seating, complemented by a curated selection of international newspapers and magazines.
Distinct zones within the lounge allow travelers to select their ideal environment—whether for unwinding, socializing, or working—complete with a state-of-the-art audio system and a playlist designed to enhance the ambiance. The lighting is expertly zoned and fully adjustable, adapting seamlessly to the rhythm of the day.
The centerpiece lobby bar, illuminated by bespoke designer lighting, boasts an impressive range of premium spirits, craft beers, and artisanal soft drinks, alongside a well-chosen list of South African and global wines. The newly upgraded kitchen delivers an expanded menu that celebrates local flavors, such as fragrant Cape Malay curries, seasonal salads, mezze platters, regional charcuterie, and award-winning Indezi River cheeses. For First Class guests, the Boutique Dining experience offers a refined à la carte menu curated by the in-house chef, paired with an extensive selection of fine wines.
