Cathay Pacific with the re-opening of the newly renovated Shanghai Pudong lounge

Cathay Pacific has officially reopened its newly transformed Shanghai Pudong Cathay Pacific Lounge, bringing its acclaimed, award-winning lounge concept to mainland China in an elevated fashion.

With a commitment to delivering an exceptional journey, Cathay Pacific continues to set new standards in premium travel. The refreshed Shanghai Pudong Cathay Pacific Lounge offers discerning travelers an exclusive sanctuary to unwind, recharge, and prepare for their flights in an environment defined by comfort and tranquility.

Strategically situated adjacent to Departure Gate D69 in Terminal 2, the expansive lounge spans 970 square meters and showcases the sophisticated, residential-inspired design ethos crafted by Studioilse, led by renowned British designer Ilse Crawford. This signature aesthetic, now a hallmark across Cathay Pacific’s global lounges, debuts in mainland China with this project. As Paul Loo, Cathay Pacific’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, expressed, "We are proud to introduce our signature hospitality and design to Shanghai, one of our most vital destinations for both business and leisure travelers. Our most loyal guests can now enjoy a host of enhanced amenities, particularly in our curated food and beverage selection."

Upon entering, travelers are immediately immersed in a serene retreat, leaving the energetic pace of the airport behind. The reception area is thoughtfully designed to evoke the warmth and intimacy of a contemporary apartment, featuring rich cherry wood, limestone accents, and a curated mix of leather and Alcantara-upholstered designer furnishings. The versatile layout encourages both social interaction in open spaces and privacy for those seeking solitude.

One of the lounge’s standout features is the Terrace—an L-shaped, open-ceiling veranda providing sweeping views of the airfield and runway. Guests can relax at dining tables or settle into bespoke Solo Chairs, each equipped with an integrated reading lamp and personal side table, ideal for work or relaxation.

The Terrace’s open-concept design seamlessly extends into the adjacent food hall, where guests can indulge in a diverse range of self-serve global cuisine. The Servery counter is continually refreshed with hot and cold dishes, artisanal pastries, premium cheeses, and charcuterie. A self-service bar presents an array of international wines and spirits, allowing guests to craft their preferred pre-flight cocktails.

The celebrated Noodle Bar—a signature across Cathay Pacific’s international lounges—makes its much-anticipated debut in mainland China. Inspired by the ambiance of Hong Kong’s traditional tea houses, the open-kitchen Noodle Bar features communal long tables and intimate booths, highlighted by pendant lighting and dark-wood ceiling fans. Here, guests can savor freshly prepared wonton egg noodle soup, a classic Cantonese comfort dish, or awaken the palate with authentic Sichuan dan dan noodles. Local Shanghai flavors are also honored, with handmade xiao long bao (soup dumplings) offered daily as part of the dim sum selection.

Throughout the lounge, high-speed Wi-Fi and real-time Flight Information Display System screens enable guests to stay connected and informed, ensuring a seamless transition from relaxation to boarding.

The Shanghai Pudong Cathay Pacific Lounge welcomes First and Business Class passengers, Marco Polo Club Silver members and above, oneworld Emerald and Sapphire status holders, and all eligible members with valid lounge passes.
