Cathay Pacific to trial on-demand dining concept

Cathay Pacific introduces a tailored on-demand dining service in Business Class, redefining inflight culinary experiences.

As part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to elevate its premium offerings, Cathay Pacific has rolled out a curated dining program on select long-haul routes. This innovative service, which empowers guests to order meals at their preferred time, is currently available aboard the flagship A350 aircraft on the Hong Kong-London Gatwick and Hong Kong-Chicago routes.

This initiative was developed in collaboration with leading hospitality consultants and is delivered by a team of specially trained cabin crew, ensuring each guest enjoys restaurant-level service at 35,000 feet. Travelers can now savor gourmet dishes whenever they choose during the flight, rather than adhering to set meal times.

Cathay Pacific’s trial phase included extensive feedback collection from frequent flyers and crew, resulting in a refined, guest-centric approach. While the concept initially debuted on a limited basis, the airline continues to evaluate guest satisfaction and operational efficiency before expanding to additional routes.

As of 2025, the program has set a new benchmark for bespoke inflight dining in Asia-Pacific, though full network rollout timelines have yet to be finalized.
