Imagine savoring sweeping vistas of clouds and landscapes from your seat, thanks to an innovative jet design that transforms the in-flight experience. Embraer’s Kyoto Airship concept, featuring expansive skylights and oversized vertical windows, promises to redefine luxury air travel for private jet enthusiasts.
The renowned Brazilian manufacturer has revealed its trailblazing vision for the Lineage 1000, integrating large-scale skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the cabin. This ambitious project is designed as a bespoke retrofit for Embraer’s flagship luxury Lineage 1000 model, offering an unparalleled sense of openness and connection to the sky.
While the Kyoto Airship remains a concept awaiting its debut client, Embraer confirms that all engineering and design approvals are in place. For those seeking the ultimate in private aviation, the fully customised experience starts at approximately £38 million, reflecting the exclusivity and craftsmanship on offer.
"We’ve demonstrated the technical feasibility of this concept," shares Jay Beever, Embraer’s VP of interior design, in a recent interview. "Once a Lineage owner requests the Kyoto Airship, we are ready to bring it to life."
Inspired by Japanese interior traditions—particularly the practice of floor seating—the Kyoto Airship features low-set, expansive vertical windows. These provide uninterrupted, panoramic views for every passenger, regardless of seat location. The addition of skylights bathes the cabin in daylight, creating an airy and uplifting environment.
Subtle cherry blossom motifs accentuate both the flooring and cabin walls, while the dining area is thoughtfully equipped with elegant Japanese-inspired tableware, merging artistry with functionality.
Onboard amenities are nothing short of world-class: a serene lounge with plush white leather sofas and luxurious wool carpeting, immersive entertainment via widescreen displays and Blu-ray systems, high-speed WiFi, a gourmet galley, and a lavish master suite boasting a queen bed and a spa-style ensuite with a dual rain shower.
The aviation world now awaits the visionary traveler eager to make the Kyoto Airship a flying reality—a testament to Embraer’s commitment to boundary-pushing design and bespoke luxury. Who will be the first to experience this sky-high sanctuary?
