Emirates has elevated its digital experience by extending its online check-in period, enabling travelers to check in from 48 hours up to 90 minutes prior to departure.
This update, which is now in effect, allows passengers to complete their check-in via both desktop and mobile platforms, offering a seamless process that caters to the needs of today’s tech-savvy, global clientele.
With the extended check-in timeframe, guests benefit from increased opportunities to select their preferred seats and minimize time spent queuing at the airport. Emirates confirmed in their latest statement that travelers can easily deposit their baggage at designated online check-in counters before moving on to immigration and security screening, streamlining the airport journey.
For those flying to or from the United States, online check-in remains accessible from 48 hours in advance; however, boarding passes are released only 24 hours before scheduled departure, in line with current U.S. travel regulations.
Alex Knigge, Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, Marketing & Brand at Emirates, commented, “We continually listen to our guests to enhance every touchpoint of the Emirates experience. Extending the online check-in window is a direct response to customer feedback, granting our passengers greater control and convenience throughout their journey.”
He added, “Empowering travelers to select seats and manage their travel details earlier is just one of the bespoke digital services we’ve introduced as part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.”
This improved check-in policy complements other recent digital upgrades from Emirates, such as the expanded ‘Hold My Fare’ feature, which now enables travelers to secure their booking and lock in competitive rates for up to 72 hours for a nominal charge. These enhancements reflect Emirates’ continued investment in premium service and cutting-edge technology to elevate the travel experience from booking to boarding.
