Emirates opens stylish new lounge in Cape Town

Emirates has elevated the ground experience at Cape Town International Airport with its newly designed premium lounge, offering discerning travelers a haven of sophistication and comfort.

Conveniently positioned in the international departures hall adjacent to Gate A3, this expansive two-level lounge accommodates up to 123 guests. Based on current passenger trends, Emirates welcomes around 65 to 70 premium travelers daily to this exclusive space.

Representing a $2.9 million (approx. £2 million) investment, the lounge showcases Emirates’ latest interior aesthetic: Italian marble flooring, plush leather seating, and rich walnut accents, all curated to create an inviting, contemporary retreat for relaxation and productivity.

Gastronomy takes center stage with a dedicated dining area featuring bar seating and an extensive buffet of complimentary gourmet fare. Guests can savor an array of international hot and cold dishes, alongside a curated beverage program that highlights premium champagnes, fine spirits, and a distinguished selection of South African and global wines.

Business travelers benefit from a state-of-the-art work zone equipped with interactive touch-screen terminals, while high-speed Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the lounge. A private elevator connects to the upper level, where guests discover a tranquil seating enclave, an elegant main dining room, a secondary television lounge, full shower facilities, and a serene prayer room.

“Our airport lounges are a cornerstone of the Emirates premium experience, designed to deliver exceptional comfort and luxury on the ground as well as in the air,” the airline notes in its latest statement. Emirates’ commitment to ground services continues to set the benchmark for global aviation hospitality.

This marks Emirates’ 39th lounge worldwide, available exclusively to First and Business Class passengers, as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold tier members.

As of 2025, Emirates operates three daily flights between Cape Town and Dubai, offering seamless connectivity and flexibility for premium travelers. The complimentary chauffeur-driven transfer service in Cape Town further distinguishes Emirates as the carrier of choice for luxury journeys to South Africa. Our editorial team is eager to revisit and provide a detailed review of this refined new lounge experience.
