During January’s global Veganuary initiative, Emirates delighted guests by serving over 20,000 plant-based meals across every cabin class. This annual celebration of veganism has spurred a remarkable 40% year-on-year increase in requests for vegan cuisine on Emirates flights.

Emirates is renowned for its inclusive approach to in-flight dining, offering curated menus for diverse dietary needs—including medical, religious, and lifestyle preferences. Vegan options have now become the third most popular special meal request in Economy Class. Emirates’ commitment to quality was recently recognized when travelers named it the Best Airline for Vegan Meals in a global Vegan News survey.

With more than 170 chef-crafted vegan recipes in its repertoire, Emirates’ culinary team—comprised of expert nutritionists and chefs—sources premium produce and ancient grains for their plant-based offerings. True to its reputation for destination-inspired cuisine, Emirates’ vegan menus reflect global flavors. Notable dishes include Truffle Mushroom Ravioli, Moroccan Vegetable Tagine with fluffy couscous, and a hearty Sweet Potato, Lentil & Spinach Ragout complemented by brown rice. The experience is rounded out with decadent vegan desserts such as Key Lime Parfait with date-citrus compote, Rich Chocolate Cake, and Chia Seed Pudding.

Vegan and other special meals are available across all Emirates routes and cabin classes, bookable up to 24 hours prior to departure. Menus are refreshed monthly to ensure variety and seasonality.

Emirates is also celebrated for its premium cheese selection and, catering to evolving guest preferences, introduced vegan cheese in April last year. To date, the airline has served over 18,000 kilograms of artisanal nut-based vegan cheese, ensuring every guest’s dietary requirements are met without compromise.

For those preferring traditional offerings, Emirates’ standard menus—meticulously prepared by award-winning chefs—remain an industry benchmark. The airline crafts over 110 million meals annually, maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail in Economy, Business, and First Class.
