Etihad Airways has enhanced its Istanbul offering in 2025 with the introduction of a direct, four-times-weekly route to Sabiha Gokcen Airport, providing a strategic complement to its daily Airbus A330 operations at Istanbul Airport (formerly Ataturk Airport).
This new connection utilizes a modern Airbus A320-200, featuring 16 seats in Business Class and 120 in Economy, curated for both comfort and efficiency.
Responding to robust demand for travel between the UAE and Turkey, Etihad now offers expanded access to Istanbul’s Asian-side gateway. Sabiha Gokcen Airport has rapidly evolved into a preferred entry point for both leisure and business travelers, with seamless links to regional destinations such as Yalova and Bursa, as well as the broader Anatolian region.
Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, remarked: “Istanbul remains a cornerstone of our global network, and serving both of the city’s major airports allows us to better accommodate the needs of our growing customer base. Passenger traffic between Abu Dhabi and Turkey continues to rise, and our commitment is to foster even greater connectivity and convenience in 2025 and beyond.”
The flight timings are designed to maximize convenience for local travelers and to facilitate smooth onward connections to the GCC, Indian Subcontinent, North and South Asia, and Australia—reflecting Etihad’s focus on network synergy and guest experience.
