British Airways has meticulously reimagined its First Class offering, introducing a host of bespoke enhancements as part of its ongoing £6.5bn customer investment programme.
From the moment you board, the elevated First Class ambiance is unmistakable. The refreshed cabin features plush bedding, curated amenities, and refined dining—each element echoing the sophistication of Britain’s leading five-star hotels.
For ultimate in-flight comfort, British Airways now presents exquisitely soft loungewear for both men and women, crafted exclusively by renowned British fashion house Temperley London. Each set is paired with a custom amenity kit adorned with Temperley’s signature “Star” motif, stocked with ELEMIS products from their acclaimed ULTRA SMART PRO-COLLAGEN collection. These handpicked essentials rejuvenate and hydrate, ensuring passengers arrive feeling their best.
Culinary excellence remains at the forefront, with chefs designing new à la carte menus that showcase the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from across Britain. Gourmet meals are elegantly served on bone china tableware created by William Edwards, while contemporary cutlery from Studio William adds a modern touch to the dining experience.
British Airways has also elevated its afternoon tea service, celebrating the quintessentially British tradition with a curated selection of artisan sandwiches, delicate pastries, freshly baked scones, and an extensive assortment of premium teas.
In addition, travellers can now enjoy an enhanced beverage experience with Dartington Crystal glassware. Fine wines and champagnes are poured into sleek stemware, and spirits or soft drinks presented in stylish cut-glass tumblers, reflecting the airline’s commitment to detail and quality.
Carolina Martinoli, Director of Brand and Customer Experience at British Airways, commented: “Our £6.5bn investment continues to transform the First Class journey. Every detail, from design partnerships to culinary innovation, has been crafted to exceed our customers’ expectations.”
For restful sleep, guests are treated to a superior turndown service featuring 400-thread-count bedding and a supportive foam fibre mattress topper. A chic day blanket and bolster cushion complete the comfort-focused suite.
Onboard entertainment is equally elevated, with over 1,000 hours of content accessible via high-fidelity Meridian headphones—tailored for immersive, high-resolution audio.
First Class travellers benefit from exclusive access to the First Wing at Heathrow Terminal 5. This private zone, fully redesigned in 2017, enables seamless check-in and direct passage through dedicated security lanes into the prestigious First Lounge.
While 2019 marked the airline’s centenary, British Airways’ multi-billion-pound investment continues to drive innovation, with recent upgrades spanning new aircraft, redesigned cabins, enhanced catering, state-of-the-art lounges, high-speed WiFi, and expanded global routes.
