American Airlines has unveiled its extensively redesigned Flagship Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), setting a new benchmark for luxury airport lounges in North America. The transformed space introduces Flagship First Dining, offering an exclusive, restaurant-style culinary journey and an array of sophisticated amenities curated for discerning travelers.
Access to the LAX Flagship Lounge is reserved for guests traveling in international First or Business Class, as well as those on direct transcontinental flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
Travelers are treated to an expansive gourmet buffet featuring both hot and cold dishes, along with a live chef station where seasonal specialties are crafted to order. The beverage program impresses, with an extensive selection of top-tier wines, champagnes, premium spirits, and a bespoke cocktail bar where guests can customize their drinks.
For those flying First Class on qualifying international routes or nonstop transcontinental services to JFK, the Flagship First Dining enclave within the lounge offers an elevated, full-service dining experience. Here, guests enjoy complimentary, à la carte menus highlighting regionally sourced ingredients and artfully prepared entrees, paired with expertly mixed drinks.
The LAX Flagship menu celebrates California’s culinary heritage, featuring produce from local farms and signature offerings such as the renowned Flagship Burger. The cocktail program now includes exclusive creations developed by acclaimed New York mixologist Pamela Wiznitzer, ensuring a memorable pre-flight experience.
This expansive 14,500-square-foot lounge, officially inaugurated by Suzanne Boda, Senior Vice President – Los Angeles, and Sean Burton, President of the Los Angeles World Airports’ Board of Commissioners, reflects American Airlines’ ongoing commitment to the luxury segment.
“The debut of our reimagined Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining underscores American’s leadership in delivering world-class amenities at LAX,” said Boda. “We remain the only U.S. carrier offering a true sit-down restaurant experience for premium passengers at this airport.”
The Flagship Lounge enhancements at LAX are part of American Airlines’ $200 million investment in premium customer experiences. This initiative also includes the newly opened Admirals Club in Terminal 5, a modernized Admirals Club in Terminal 4, and the state-of-the-art Flagship Lounge and Dining in Terminal 4.
Following the LAX debut, new Flagship Lounges have also opened at Miami (MIA), New York JFK, and Chicago O’Hare (ORD), with Flagship First Dining now available at both MIA and JFK, reinforcing American Airlines’ premium positioning in key U.S. gateways.
