Frankfurt Airport has elevated the passenger journey in Terminal 1 with the installation of state-of-the-art interactive touchscreen kiosks. Known as the ‘Interactive Airport Desk’ (I-AID), these digital stations provide travelers with instant access to essential information, from live flight updates to dynamic terminal navigation.
Leveraging real-time data, the I-AID empowers guests to efficiently plan their route through the airport, monitor security and boarding times, and discover curated shopping, dining, and service recommendations tailored to their journey.
By simply scanning a boarding pass, travelers can retrieve personalized details about their itinerary using the user-friendly interface. Recent upgrades now enable seamless transfer of search results and wayfinding directions directly to smartphones and tablets via the Frankfurt Airport App, ensuring connectivity throughout the terminal.
The inaugural I-AID unit is positioned in area Z of Terminal 1, just past security in the Non-Schengen zone. Following a successful pilot, the airport is deploying additional touchscreens across all terminals, reflecting Frankfurt’s ongoing commitment to digital innovation.
The current I-AID system operates in German, English, and Chinese, with support for additional languages—including Spanish, French, Russian, and Arabic—already launched to serve a diverse global clientele.
