Garuda Indonesia launches new Heathrow route

Garuda Indonesia, the nation’s premier airline, has inaugurated its highly anticipated nonstop service between London Heathrow and Jakarta.

This strategic move marks the transition from the former Gatwick-Amsterdam route, responding to robust demand and optimizing connectivity for both leisure and corporate travelers. Garuda Indonesia now offers five weekly flights from Heathrow, aligning with the preferences of discerning business passengers and leveraging the extensive SkyTeam alliance network based at the airport.

“Our relocation to Heathrow reflects our commitment to providing seamless connections and superior service, especially for our premium clientele,” shares Jubi Prasetyo, General Manager UK & Ireland for Garuda Indonesia.

Flights operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with Garuda’s flagship Boeing 777-300ER, configured in three luxurious classes. The westbound journey from London to Jakarta is a nonstop experience, while the eastbound return includes a scheduled stop in Singapore, accommodating operational requirements at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

“Launching from London Heathrow positions Garuda Indonesia as the exclusive carrier offering direct service to Jakarta, ensuring the fastest and most comfortable journey between the UK and Indonesia,” says Jubi Prasetyo.

The Boeing 777-300ER features seating for 314 guests: 8 in First Class, 38 in Business Class, and 268 in Economy, each offering Garuda’s signature hospitality and award-winning inflight service.
