Helsinki Airport and Finnair to host fashion show

On May 24, Helsinki Airport’s Runway 2 will be reimagined as an exclusive fashion runway in a collaborative spectacle between Finnair and Helsinki Airport, setting a new standard for airport events.

Seven acclaimed designers representing China, Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland will debut their latest collections at the much-anticipated ‘Match Made in HEL’ fashion event.

Johanna Jäkälä, Finnair’s Vice President of Brand, Marketing, and Loyalty, commented, “Aviation and fashion have long inspired one another, with global air travel shaping and accelerating trends worldwide.”

She added, “Fashion is a universal language that unites cultures, and as Finnair continues to bridge Europe and Asia, we are proud to spotlight visionary talent from both continents through this extraordinary runway experience.”

The roster of participating designers—carefully curated and set to be revealed in early spring—will present innovative pieces that reflect the most compelling movements in both Asian and European fashion today.

Tuomas Laitinen, Fashion Director at SSAW Magazine and the event’s curator, remarked, “Helsinki Airport offers an unparalleled setting for this cross-continental creative exchange. I am thrilled to help bring some of the industry’s most exciting designers to this remarkable venue.”
