Hilton to bring Garden Inn to Bucharest

Hilton has introduced its first Hilton Garden Inn in Bucharest, marking a significant addition to the Romanian capital’s upscale hospitality scene.

The 201-room Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town occupies a beautifully restored heritage building on Doamnei Street, right in the heart of the city’s vibrant historic center.

Guests enjoy an inviting on-site restaurant serving locally inspired cuisine, made-to-order breakfasts, and access to a 24-hour fitness center. The hotel’s prime location places visitors within easy walking distance of Bucharest’s most celebrated landmarks, including the National Museum of Romanian History and the energetic Lipscani district.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President of Development for EMEA at Hilton, commented: "With Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town, we are able to thoughtfully preserve the architectural character of a historic building while seamlessly integrating the comforts and efficiencies of a modern hotel—an approach that has proven successful in key European destinations such as Moscow, Paris, London, and Szczecin."

Simon Greenleaf, also of Hilton, highlighted the brand’s rapid expansion across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, referencing recent openings in Milan, Malaga, Istanbul, and Dubai, and noting that a robust pipeline of new properties is underway.

Romania currently boasts five Hilton properties, with Bucharest home to three: the renowned Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bucharest - Unirii Square, and now the centrally located Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Old Town.
