Icelandair launches flights from Aberdeen to Reykjavik

Icelandair has introduced a nonstop service linking Aberdeen and Reykjavik, enhancing connectivity between the northeast of Scotland and Iceland's vibrant capital.

Launched as part of Icelandair’s strategic expansion, the Aberdeen-Reykjavik route strengthens the airline’s presence in Scotland, now serving as its second Scottish gateway and sixth overall in the UK. The flights are currently scheduled four times per week—operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays—using a modern, two-class Bombardier Q400 aircraft configured for 72 passengers.

According to Andres Jónsson, General Manager UK & Ireland at Icelandair, "Introducing direct flights from Aberdeen is a significant milestone as we continue to build on over seven decades of service to Scotland. This route opens up seamless access to our extensive North American network and offers travelers from the region a faster, more convenient journey via our Reykjavik hub."

Travelers benefit from streamlined connections to Icelandair’s now 18 North American destinations—including major cities such as New York, Orlando, Seattle, Toronto, Chicago, and Montreal—with easy transit through Keflavik International Airport. Recent enhancements to the network and upgraded lounge facilities further elevate the passenger experience for both business and leisure guests.

Icelandair’s direct Aberdeen service offers a premium gateway to Iceland and beyond.
