The acclaimed Lalit Suri Hospitality Group has launched its flagship international property, The Lalit London, introducing a new benchmark for Indian luxury hospitality in the heart of the British capital.
With a distinguished portfolio of 11 properties across India, the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group’s London debut seamlessly fuses India’s rich cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and gastronomic excellence with the grandeur of Victorian-era architecture.
Located on Queen Elizabeth Street, steps from Tower Bridge on London’s vibrant South Bank, The Lalit London is housed within a meticulously restored Grade II-listed building originally crafted by Edward Mountford, renowned for designing the Old Bailey. This heritage site has been thoughtfully rejuvenated by EPR Architects, with interiors curated by Archer Humphryes, blending period details with contemporary Indian artistry.
The centrepiece of the property is the former Great Hall, now transformed into Baluchi—The Lalit’s signature pan-Indian restaurant, celebrated for its innovative cuisine and atmospheric setting. This concept, recognized across the brand, brings gourmet Indian dining to a spectacular London stage.
The Lalit London also features a cocktail lounge set in the former Governors’ Room, where guests can sip bespoke creations amidst original wood panelling and intricate plasterwork ceilings.
The hotel offers 70 uniquely designed guestrooms, each reflecting individual character and layout. The top-floor accommodations boast soaring 30-foot ceilings, delivering an unrivaled sense of space and light, while the historic Headmaster’s Room has been reimagined as an exclusive luxury suite.
For wellness seekers, Rejuve – The Spa offers a sanctuary of holistic therapies, complemented by a cutting-edge fitness centre and a generous outdoor terrace for refined al fresco dining experiences.
This project is the realisation of a vision long held by Keshav Suri, Executive Director of the Lalit Suri Hospitality Group, who describes a deep familial and spiritual connection to London. The group continues its international expansion with new properties under development in Ahmedabad and Amritsar, India, as well as Koh Samui, Thailand.
