Legendary Hotel Eden in Rome unveils remarkable results of restoration

Rome’s iconic Hotel Eden, renowned for its storied heritage and opulent hospitality, now shines brighter than ever following a transformative 18-month renovation.

Returning to the Eternal City’s luxury scene, the Dorchester Collection’s legendary property reopened its doors on April 1, 2017, unveiling a spectacular new era. The comprehensive redesign, led by acclaimed architects Bruno Moinard, Claire Betaille (4BI & Associés), and Patrick Jouin with Sanjit Manku (Jouin Manku), has elevated every aspect of the guest experience, blending timeless Roman elegance with contemporary sophistication.

Guests are welcomed to 98 spacious, light-filled rooms and suites, innovative culinary venues, and—for the first time—an urban spa and exclusive blow-dry bar, setting a new benchmark for luxury hotels in Rome.

Less rooms

Steeped in history since the late 19th century, Hotel Eden enjoys an enviable location in the heart of Rome, moments from the famed Spanish Steps and lush Villa Borghese gardens. The renovation reduced the number of accommodations from 121 to 98, allowing for more expansive suites and greater privacy. Each room is bathed in sunlight through soaring ceilings and tall windows, complemented by luxurious textiles and curated Italian artworks.

Bathrooms evoke the grandeur of ancient Roman baths, featuring custom marble, artisan mosaics, rain showers, and Bottega Veneta amenities. The Bellavista Penthouse Suite, the hotel’s crown jewel, offers a panoramic vantage point over Rome’s rooftops, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows that open fully to the city’s golden light.

Revamped restaurants

Both signature restaurants at Hotel Eden have been thoughtfully reinvented, with an emphasis on fresh, health-forward cuisine and the best of Italian produce. Michelin-starred Executive Chef Fabio Ciervo orchestrates the culinary artistry at La Terrazza, the rooftop fine-dining destination where sweeping city views pair with an inventive Mediterranean menu. The restaurant’s interiors pay homage to Italian craftsmanship, featuring a dramatic glass fresco wall as the centerpiece.

For all-day dining, Il Giardino Ristorante & Bar offers a refined yet relaxed ambiance with vistas over Rome. Here, guests enjoy nourishing breakfasts, light lunches, and elegant dinners, alongside a menu of artisanal pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and Venetian-style cicchetti. The bar presents a curated wine list and masterfully crafted cocktails, while the intimate La Libreria lounge tempts with both classic and avant-garde drinks in a discreet setting.

New spa

Debuting as part of the restoration, the Eden Spa offers a curated menu of holistic treatments and rituals, drawing on the expertise of Sonya Dakar and the legendary Officina Profumo – Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella. The spa features three serene treatment suites, a signature blow-dry bar, and a dedicated space for manicures and pedicures—catering to discerning guests seeking relaxation and rejuvenation in the heart of Rome.

Presidential Suite living room

For business and social gatherings, Hotel Eden now boasts three state-of-the-art meeting rooms, each fully refurbished and equipped to host exclusive events with seamless service.

“Welcoming guests back to Hotel Eden is a proud moment for our team,” shares general manager Luca Virgilio. “We are committed to providing an unforgettable stay in one of Rome’s most storied destinations.”
